Kids in the park is written about the transition of growing up, being away from life's confrontations and problems. The song is dedicated to friends and people we know, who had left their countries and families to settle in the UK. Sam wrote about his friend’s and people who he knew that had to spend 5 years going to the home office, relentlessly to sign patronising documents. Some of his close friends told him stories of what their lives where like back at home. Their stories and their experiences are part of this song.
